What is a Thriller?
It is very hard to describe what a thriller is because in most films it has a sub genre which means that it has two genres such as thriller and horror. In a thriller it’s the characters that makes the film what it is, the main character a hero will normally be spies, enforcement officers of something of this nature it can also be an ordinary citizen that has some become involved in danger by accident. Then throughout the story tension will be created to create thrills. Camera angles and the use of editing which is usually fast in thrillers help create the tension and build the suspense. Other sub genres that are used with thrillers are; action, conspiracy, crime, disaster, drama, eco, erotic, horror, political, supernatural and there are many others all that could be used in different ways to create the key part to a thriller. The way that these are linked together are done to make the story different form an ordinary thriller, for example a legal thrillers story would have the same type of characters such as the hero but the story will be laid out around court they will be fighting to save their self of the lives of others. A supernatural thriller will have a character with super powers which will either be the antagonist or protagonist, then the hero will defeat the antagonist whether they or the protagonist has the supernatural powers.
